The Tempest Overdrive was created with Architects legends Adam Christianson and Josh Middleton with the simple goal of creating a super-versatile overdrive/boost solution that would be outstanding at home, in the studio or live. Especially live.
The Tempest was designed as a high output overdrive pedal that would work perfectly pushing ANY amp into the brutal, exacting tone they are renowned for. For crushing uber-tight rhythm tones, have the level up and the gain down, add some gain for lead playing, and your sustain will ring out like never before. Your amp will not believe what is hitting it and your tone will be elevated to all new levels of brutality while keeping the tightest control.
The Temptest could not be easier to control... There are the standard Drive and Level controls, as well as High and Low Pass controls. These are not your regular tone controls, these frequencies are specifically placed to ensure that even at extreme settings, the pedal will do nothing but add to your tone. All jacks are placed top side for tight pedal board applications.
Sow the wind and reap the storm, bring the Tempest.
Level: Adjusts the output of the pedal. The higher you have this, the louder your signal will be and push the input of your amp harder
Gain: The amount of gain, or overdrive, is applied to your signal. The first part of the sweep is pretty clean, you really notice the gain coming in past about 11 o’clock.
Low: Cuts the amount of low end that outputs from the pedal. The more you turn it, the more it cuts... and, don’t ask about what frequency it cuts at, because we like to keep some things to ourselves!
High: Cuts the amount of high end outputted from the pedal. The more you turn it, the more it cuts... and, just like above - we can’t tell you what frequency it is!
