I bought the pedal for boosting my 3 channel recto in low tunings ( Drop A#, A#, A, G#). The pedal really helps to remove mud from sound and add armor penetrating highs to sound of my guitars. Highly recomment the pedal for modern metal players, which wants to bring a life for their amps, that born in 90 or early 2000.
One of the best boosts. It's in my top 2 along with peper's dirty tree. Love it with recto style amps and other's that suffer a bit of low end bloat.
This pedal does something that is hard to describe, but makes a substantial contribution to the overall sound. It seems to push the front end at some targeted frequencies that tighten up the low end (while giving it some extra punch), and also to accentuate the higher frequencies to create some clarity. It works really well out in front of my Diezel Einstein and especially with higher gain settings. This, plus a Zuul in the effects loop turns a great amp into more of a flame thrower.
I've been on the search for that perfect boost pedal that would finally dethrone the Electric Eye Audio Mud Killer overdrive I've been using for a long time. Turns out, Fortin did, and they delivered on the 33. Much better high-end content, harmonic response is just so much better, and I get far more sustain out of the pedal with little noise floor. Great job, Fortin!
Fortin pedals are absolute magic. I have a zuul, zull+, hexdrive, spliff, roach and now a 33. I couldn't resist the July 4th promotion. I need a third zuul so I can complete my wet/dry/wet signal.
The 33 is different to say the least, just get one. You feel it in the strings while it's engaged.
