Incomparably better than my now-sold Boss NS-1X at not making digital-sounding noises. Anything runs quiet as a mouse after the Zuul except my germanium fuzz, which is common enough with fuzz that it’s expected from players at this point. Vs. the Boss unit, where I get breakthrough noise wherever I put it in the chain when I use suppressor mode.
From the NS-1X, even 4-cable method, I was getting odd, fizzy bleed-through that sounded like more like an Internet buffering issue than anything else. Not often, but that’s not the point when the point is silence.
I swapped in the Zuul. Mine is the blackout edition, but the silence is golden.
Ran this into a loop of one amp as in front of another amp set clean, both applications crushed!
you’re in luck, because this baby will do exactly that. just ensure you’re using some sort of extended range guitar for maximum velocity. to get the best results, you’ll have to rethink how you normally approach dialing in your rig, but once you do, you won’t turn back. this pedal is special and powerful, whether you wanna sound like meshuggah or not.
This pedal is amazing. It packs massive tone in its little box. Also comes with an on board Zuul circuit to keep noise out of the signal. I have not tested this at extremely high volumes, so I can't say how it holds up in a live setting.
Other than that, this pedal has been my home practice tone since it got delivered.
I think the pedal is great! Lots of tonal options! Definitely not a plug in and go though put in some time and mess with it! Definitely a great tool!
